Our Scouts – Ambedkar Scout Troop
Scouting is a movement that aims to support young people in their physical, mental and spiritual development with a strong focus on the survival skills in such a way that they play constructive roles in the society. Scouts spend time together in small groups with shared experiences, rituals and activities. This emphasizes good citizenship and decision-making in youngsters. Camps occur a few times in a year and may involve several groups from a local area or region camping together for a weekend. The enrolment in Scout Movement strengthens the personality of the students and helps them imbibe a sense of social responsibility. They become disciplined and courageous and are in the forefront during critical times.
Rani Lakshmibai Guide Company
Guide movement aims to support young girls and help them prepare themselves for one of the most stimulating and challenging experiences of life. The students who enroll in the Guide Company become trustworthy, loyal, courteous, disciplined, and courageous.
Their thoughts, words, and deeds focus on community service. Character development, health, handicrafts, and service to others become a part of their life.
The Scouts and Guides abide by the prescribed Law. The classes are held once a week on the specified day and time. The students are given intense training and many of them become eligible for the Rajyapuraskar and the Rashtrapati Awards.
In Class VI, the students can enroll in the Scouts/Guides troop. The preliminary enrolment will be on a selection basis only for a prescribed strength. The best performers at the end of Class VI will be selected for the final enrolment. The selection will be based on their behaviour, attitude, and a written screening test. There is no enrolment in any other class.
The selected students will continue the training from Class VI to Class X. At the end of the academic year in Class X, those students, who are willing to opt for the Rashtrapati / Rajyapuraskar award training, will continue their sessions in Classes XI & XII.
